This brand new resource was commissioned by ACCAC in 2002 to link music and literacy at key stage 1.

Sing me a Story presents seven stories, each of which links with a different musical element. For example, the story about the baby owls Pip, Pop and Pepi focuses on pitch. The story tells how three little owls have lost their mum and must listen to the sounds around them to determine whoo-is-whoo! The first 'too-whit-too-woo' they hear is too high; the second 'too-whit-too-woo' they hear is too low; the third 'too-whit-too-woo' is just right - the babies have found their mum!

The resource includes a big book, teachers' book and CD. The teachers' book contains songs to tie in with each story, singing tips, extension work and ideas for related listening. The CD contains high-quality recordings of each song (with and without accompaniment) and the extracts for related listening.

Each story is beautifully illustrated and also available individually in small books.
