Peter Treadwell, MA Ed, BEd Hons, Cert Ed Distinction

Peter is Head of School of Lifelong Learning at University of Wales Institute Cardiff. He is responsible for co-ordinating new course developments in Lifelong Learning and, in a lead agent capacity, of developing lifelong learning courses across other UWIC schools. He has direct responsibility for research and enterprise initiatives within the school, and currently supervises the delivery of a number of European Funded projects. Typically, such projects focus on small and medium enterprises, and developing learning networks for business training centres and voluntary organisations.

Peter is an experienced Registered Inspector of Schools and has worked with CISU in UWIC on approximately 40 school inspections. His main training interests centre upon educational management and sports coaching management. He works as lead trainer and assessor to the NPQH Wales Training and Development Centre, as lead tutor to the LPSH, and as an adviser to the Welsh Rugby Union on the development and delivery of Coaching Diplomas.

Peter's research interests focus on learning organisations within a Welsh educational context. In addition, he carries out small-scale research and consultancy for UK Sport and the Sports Council for Wales.

Prior to his current post at UWIC, Peter worked as Head of School for Graduate and Continuing Education in the former Faculty of Education and Sport.
