GCSE music - new specifications

A one-day course which explores the new GCSE for music, comparing and contrasting the specifications by Edexcel, AQA, OCR, WJEC and CCEA. The course includes a multi-media presentation and extensive exemplar material. The course is designed for heads of music, music teachers and advisers/inspectors.

• Explain the rationale for the new GCSE and key changes within the subject criteria
• Compare and contrast the specifications by Edexcel, AQA, OCR, WJEC and CCEA
• Clarify the areas of study, assessment objectives and assessment components
• Provide an update on contribution of music GCSE to key skills
